Passing from the first to second part of the twentieth century emerges in literature a specific attention to the domestic space, which represents the detachment of the protagonist from the external world. After the period of massive reconstruction subsequent to the Second World War the collective imaginary of the city and of the private house changes completely, reflecting new concepts that oppose the private to the public space. In literature emerges an increasing identification of the protagonist with his domestic space, which becomes a sort of second skin and inherit the nature of the protagonist.
